The basis of our caring ministry must begin with scripture. “A new commandment I give unto you that you love one another as I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” (John 13: 34-35)
Who needs care?
Everyone: Because God would have every one of His children loved, prayed for, cared for, by another of His children.
People volunteer to be a carer for a wide range of reasons including:
- Wanting to be needed
- Wanting to help make a difference in other peoples lives
- Wanting to learn or use skills
- Wanting to belong to a caring community and feel accepted
- Wanting to be valued and affirmed
- Wanting to grow in their faith and share their God given gifts
- Wanting to keep from being lonely
- Wanting to support the cause they believe in
